This combination 1000/6000 Grit medium/fine water stone has a large surface making sharpening longer knives easier. The medium surface is used to remove scratches from rougher stones and to further refine an edge. This grit is often effective for using as a starting point for blades in fairly good condition. The smooth surface is for finishing and applying a sharp edge to the blade. 200 x 50 x 25mm (8″ x 2″ x 1″). Made in Japan. Boxed.
